“What is it like for young people to grow up in the Bavarian Forest surrounded by pristine nature but not much else?”
Well, I have an answer for you. I think it’s a blessing to grow up here. Why do I think so? Well, not only do you create a very special bond with nature, but you also get to see so much of its placid beauty. The stunning views you get on top of the mountains such as the “Arber“ will enchant everyone. You can count on that. And trust me, if you think that you will get bored here, you’ll be surprised how exciting nature can be! There is so much to experience. So much to explore. You can go hiking, swimming, cycling, climbing, skiing – you name it! If you are up to it, you can even go and see the beauty of the Bavarian Forest from above with an airplane from the next airfield like the one in Arnbruck. With nature being all around you, you can romp about in the endless sea of trees just like a child would do and get lost in your own amazing world with a feeling of deep satisfaction upon your soul. No computers, no cell phones, no small apartments with stuffy air, just your childish self, fresh and pure air that may smell like damp moss, rain, wet tree trunks, flowers and that limitless peace all around you. You won’t get anywhere near to this in the hurried hustle and bustle of the cities. In the Bavarian Forest you are immersed in a peaceful atmosphere, the sound of water running somewhere through the woods, birds singing and chirping and the wind rustling through the mighty trees. That is what makes it so utterly magical. And that is why I love growing up here and why I think that it is a great and extraordinary place to grow up.
